Christmas 2015

Christmas is the annual festival in USA. Although I have been celebrating Diwali since childhood, I also like celebrating Christmas. After coming to USA, I started liking the holiday season much more. Winters are very harsh in Michigan. The festive Christmas colors add liveliness to otherwise gloomy atmosphere. People here are very enthusiastic and there is lot of resources available.  There are light shows at various malls and parks. Each store has festive feeling, Christmas carols are played at public places. The trees which have become lifeless are decorated with lights, the lighting make up for the colorless and white scenery. Adults exchange gifts and kids wait for Santa. Families gather for dinner and there is happiness everywhere. Every home puts up a unique displays in their front yards.
Hence I also thought of becoming a part of this festival and hence I try to do some of the Christmas customs at my house too.
Here are pics of my decoration this year.
I kept this Santa on my coffee table. This gives an immediate feeling of Christmas.

I kept this candle and potpourri on the dining table with the golden candle. I added the golden glittery Styrofoam  balls to the potpourri to add the gold effect. I have a red table cloth on the table with golden table mats.Christmas (12 of 14)
Gift wrap bows on the wall added color to my neutral walls.

My Christmas village was the center of attraction of my decoration. The train added live effect to the village.  The rotating ice skating board played Christmas carols and flashing lights. I had a black cloth for the background embedded with lighting to imitate stars in night sky. The artificial snowflakes gave the effect of snow. I had candles lit at multiple places in the village.
I added these wall props in the family room.
